Little Millet also known as 'वरी' in Maharashtra is an ancient variety of millet crop. It is also had during  fasting(upavas) as well. Khichdis and cutlets made from this millet are during ekadashi's and the 'Pandharichi Vari'.

Foods like these are reasons why traditionally people in villages have been living a long lifetime without any ailments like diabetes and blood pressure. It has a low glycemic index and is gluten free. It is versatile as a grain and a variety of dishes like idlis, dosas, sheera, upma, khichdis, cutlets, dhoklas and lot more can be made for it.
